FAQs

 Frequently Asked Questions
Why play club volleyball?
There are many reasons to play club volleyball such as to:
• learn more about the sport of volleyball from experienced coaches and players
• improve your individual and team skills and knowledge of the game,
• continue to play at a competitive level after the school season and prepare for next year’s school season
• showcase your abilities to college recruiters who primarily attend large club tournaments vs. high school games.
Many players join the Integrity family because we provide a positive, yet challenging experience that prepares them to play volleyball at a high level in junior high, high school, college, and beyond.

What is the difference between Ltd. Club, Club, Select & Intense teams?
Limited Club do not travel out of the general DFW area. Limited Club teams to practice 2 hours a week and Club, Select and Intense level teams practice 4 hours a week plus 2 hours per week of conditioning starting with our 13’s teams. Select and Intense are competitive teams whose members possess the basic skills and are working on improving those skills and increasing their overall understanding of the game.

Our Select and Club teams travel regionally with one trip out of town to Houston or Kansas City which will require 2 days of Hotel expense for parents but will be drivable. These are highly competitive team whose players are intermediate to advanced volleyball players. Again our focus is on skill improvement and the mental aspects of the game. We started the Intense level in 2014 with the goal of qualifying for USAV Nationals or AAU Nationals in June. Intense teams will participate in the Tour of Texas and 2 National Qualifiers with the goal of qualifying for Nationals.

Why tryout?
Tryouts give us a chance to see how each player accepts feedback, deals with unusual situations, handles adversity, and adjusts to suggested changes. As a result of our assessment, players will be assigned to teams that reflect their skill level. We will try to offer everyone who tries out a place to play and everyone will receive extensive training and skill development.

What is the cost to tryout?
The cost to tryout is $50 (by Sept 17th ) or $70 up to 9:00 pm the night before tryouts. Late registration is $90. No one is allowed to tryout unless they are registered- which is all done online. Tryout fees are non-refundable.

What should I bring to tryouts?
Bring your completed USAV membership registration form & the USAV medical release form from the North Texas Region (NTR) website. You should wear comfortable workout clothes, bring your shoes, ankle braces (if you use them), and a water bottle. Be sure to eat a meal at least an hour before the tryout.

How are tryouts conducted and players selected for each team?
Tryouts for each age group are held on Saturday to allow coaches to assess players' skills. Several Integrity Volleyball Coaches will be involved in the tryouts and selections. All players will be given an equal opportunity but those players that have attended our Pre-Tryout Clinics have a distinct advantage over those that the coaches are not familiar with. No athlete will be offered a position without participating in the tryout process which includes Pre-Tryout Clinics. Skills are not the only factor considered as teams need to be balanced with all positions, so the position that you play may be a factor. Attitude and leadership are also taken into account. Most offers will be given out at the first tryout.

What does it cost to play club volleyball?
Each team's dues depend primarily on the amount of practice time and the level and number of tournaments in which they participate. We strive to keep the dues feasible, without sacrificing quality. Costs generally range from $950 - $4,200 depending on the team you play on. Your tuition pays for coaching salaries, gym rental, tournament entry fees, uniforms, registration fees, training fees, equipment, coaches travel expenses, most hotel expenses for travel teams and club administrative expenses.

Are there payment options?
When you sign your contract to play on a team, deposits of $350 to $1,000 will be required depending on the team you are selected for with the remaining balance paid out in 4 monthly installments. We do offer a 3% paid in full discount if you pay in cash or check and we also accept credit card payments with no processing fee.

When are practices held?
Specific practice times will be determined once teams have been selected. Generally two days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday between 5:30pm - 9:30pm.for 2 hours per team.

Where are practices held?
We have two 2 court facilities and two 1 court facilities located in central Bedford with easy access to 121 and 183. We have the primary lease of these facilities and have secured long term leases for our future plans and growth.

How many Coaches per team and how many girls are on a team?
Two experienced coaches are assigned to each team no matter what the level. Many clubs only provide 1 coach for their 3rd and 4th teams and for Metro/Limited Club Teams. Integrity does not agree with this practice and maintains a ratio of 5 girls to 1 coach for Club Volleyball.  The only exception is the Intense Team level. If the coach deems the necessity to add additional players because of the several 3 day tournaments, this may be allowed. Otherwise,10 girls will be the maximum players per team.

Is playing time guaranteed?
Equal practice time is what is being paid for in the fees. Playing time of 0%-50% is guaranteed for tournament play and varies by level of the team you are selected for. Playing time is determined by ability, attendance, attitude, position the athlete plays, and the level of tournament.

How long is the club season?
Tryouts are held in late September through mid October. Practices begin starting shortly thereafter in November for Club, Select and Intense Teams and in December for Limited Club Teams. Tournament play starts in December/January and ends in early May. Nationals will lengthen the season to late June.

What other Programs does the Club offer?
Integrity has our very successful Academy Pre Club and Academy Intense program for girls and boys ages 8 -12. We have four week sessions throughout the year that are designed to teach beginners and those that have played recreational league volleyball the basic skills needed to move their game to the next level and have started our Academy Intense program in 2013  for those that are more advanced. This summer Integrity Intense camps were introduced to keep our club players progressing and introducing players and age group coaches for upcoming season. Other programs include:

* 2 five week spring and summer leagues sessions for Middle School athletes to keep playing during the off season under close guidance from Integrity coaches,
* Summer skill sessions and positional clinics are designed for smaller group private lessons,
* Sand Volleyball Program,
* Middle School and High School Back to School clinics,
* Private practice sessions,
* Integrity Sports Performance conditioning program during the season as we found that this is beneficial and augments school conditioning programs which may not be Volleyball specific.
